We focus on community-based projects that continue to make Saanich a vibrant and caring community. With community support and donations from civic-minded citizens, we respond to requests from organizations looking to create a lasting legacy in Saanich.
We collect and process donations for grassroots projects that benefit the wider community. Beyond that, the Foundation also raises funds to provide grants that support not-for-profit organizations doing charitable work within Saanich or involving Saanich residents.

Trevor Hancock is the founder and President of “Conversations for a One Planet Region”, a non-profit society registered under the Societies Act in BC, and based in Saanich. Its VISION is that the Greater Victoria Region achieves social and ecological sustainability, with a high quality of life and a long life in good health for all its citizens, while reducing its ecological footprint to be equivalent to one planet's worth of biocapacity. Its MISSION is to establish and maintain community-wide conversations on One Planet living and a One Planet Region

Because The Saanich Legacy Foundation recognizes that it takes many types of people, organizations, projects, and places to create a healthy, vibrant, and caring community, we fund a broad range of programmes and events.
