Fernwood Community Centre
Funded in part by the Golden Jubilee Endowment Fund via the Saanich Legacy Foundation
The Saanich Legacy Foundation is proud to support inclusive and affirming community programming through the Golden Jubilee Endowment Fund, including funding for the Transgender Youth Arts Drop-in at Fernwood Community Centre.
This free arts-based drop-in provides a welcoming space for transgender and 2SLGBTQ+ youth—as well as allies—to connect, create, and express themselves. Hosted at Little Fernwood / Paul Phillips Hall, the program offers activities such as button-making, collaging, zine-making, and pride banner creation. All materials are provided, and no registration is required—ensuring the program is accessible to all who wish to participate.
Held during key community events like Pride Weekend, this initiative supports not only artistic exploration but also emotional well-being, social connection, and community visibility for marginalized youth.
By funding programs like this, the Saanich Legacy Foundation reaffirms its commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and creative environments where all youth can thrive.
