The Pearce Crescent community consists of 50 homes in the heart of the Blenkinsop Valley. While they are surrounded by wildlife, trees and farmland, their children have no access to a park or playground unless parents drive them, or take a 30-minute walk. A proposal for an adventure playground on a vacant lot, designated for a road right-of-way but which will never be used as such, was supported by Saanich Parks. The community is working hard to raise suffi cient funds and gain all approvals necessary, and has secured volunteer help to work with Saanich on the construction of the playground.
