The District of Saanich Community Services offers leadership programmes, three drop-in Youth Activity Centres, special events and a 5-year Youth Development Strategy to achieve its vision of inspired Youth.  Community Services approached the SLF to assist with funding opportunities through community and corporate grants and other donations that they would not have been able to access without the SLF's charitable status.

Recently RBC Tillicum Branch offered $1000 for a Day of Service as a means to “give back to the community” which resulted a Cinco de Mayo event on May 5, 2017 to dove-tail with the regular Friday night drop in at the  sessions at the Flipside Youth Activity Centre at Pearks Arena. 

The Foundation was pleased to assist with this enterprise, and now has a Community Initiative Agreement with Saanich Community Services for “Flipside”.  It is anticipated that further grants will be explored to assist with renovation projects, mentoring and support in Arts, Culture and Heritage, addressing social, mental health issues and financial barriers, as well as providing food programmes for before and after school care.
